REI Outlet - Cheaper REI stuff!

Mountain Gear - These guys have it all and have good service.  But, expect to pay full retail for only the latest and greatest stuff.

Black Diamond - At BD, its all about cutting edge Climbing and Skiing gear.  Some good videos here too.

Omega Pacific - These guys design and build gear.  They strive for Quality and making it affordable.

Yates Gear - Maker of the Screamer, and a lot of other stuff…

Trango - Another one of the big names in climbing gear

Grivel - For everything in an Alpinist’s toolbox (also check out Grivel North America)

Mountain Hardware - Manufactures tents, sleeping bags, outdoor clothing and technical apparel for climbing, skiing, etc.

Arcteryx - Cutting edge climbing apparel and packs.  These guys make The North Face look like Macy’s.

Patagonia - A Green company with good technical apparel.  Some good videos here as well.

REGIONAL CLIMBING INFORMATION

Southeastern Climbers Coalition - a non-profit group dedicated to preserving climbing access in the Southeast

Coolclimbing - Lots of good info for Southeast climbing.  The only info online for the ice climbing in the South.

 

GUIDES & CLIMBING SCHOOLS

Here’s a list of guides and schools that MMI members recommend.  We’ll only put links here if we know and trust them!

Eastern Mountain Sports - Specializing in the Northeast.  Lots of good rock, ice and even alpine climbing up there!

Colorado Mountain School - These guys climb all over the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies (& are the only service authorized to guide in RMNP).

Timberline Mountain Guides - Specializing in Mount Hood, Smith Rock plus all the other Oregon Volcanoes.

Southwest Adventure Guides - Experts in Southwest Colorado, and Indian Creek.

Granite Arches - Southeast US, including North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.

American Alpine Institute - These guys do courses and climbs all over the world.

Karl Baba - Yosemite specialist.
